Omaha Wireless Coverage at Rosenblatt Stadium

The Omaha Wireless Group worked in conjunction with the Omaha Parks Department, Douglass County, and the NCAA to provide wireless Internet access for the College World Series in 2005 and 2006. A special thanks to Qwest Communications for donating two DSL's for backbone connectivity.

Details

Rosenblatt Stadium consists of four outdoor access points and four indoor access points. The four outdoor access points cover the west and south parking lots, and stadium seating. High-gain directional antennas connect to the access points for maximum coverage. Three indoor access points are on the third floor. They cover everything on the third floor, which includes the skyboxes, the press area, and the owner's suite. The last access point is on the first floor. It covers the Pope Room for after game conferences.

The firewall, patch panel, and switch are housed in a wall-mounted rack. The firewall acts as the main gateway for Internet access. It delivers IP information to all the clients connected to the wireless network. The patch panel and switch connects all the access points to the firewall/gateway.
